Book Club

In October, Mr de Neve read an extract from The Case of the Smuggler’s Curse in assembly, letting the children know that it was the chosen read for one of the book clubs after half term. Spaces are always limited, and Laura was inundated with requests to join because it really caught their interest. So began Laura’s mission to source more copies and, as luck would have it, the author himself was signing copies in Waterstones in Salisbury, when she was there during her half term break. He was happy to sign one especially for the book club members and to chat about the school. He said he would be happy to hear from the children by email and answer their questions.

Names were drawn out of a hat by Mr Hield at the first meeting and Lola-Rose was thrilled to win that special copy to keep as a memento, especially as she is a frequent book club attendee. All the children have prepared some excellent questions to send to him and now eagerly await his answers.
