Our School

Welcome from the Headteacher

CJS_2021 (1)WhilCromer Junior School enjoys providing the best provision and outcomes for all children.

We have a deeply inclusive ethos, valuing the contribution every one of us adds to the school community. Visitors comment on the calm environment, created to nurture and support our pupils with their learning. At Cromer Junior School, we work closely with parents, the community and outside agencies to ensure every child has what they need to thrive. We enjoy and celebrate diversity. Our ASD Specialist Resource base and Nest nurture provision make us special.

Teachers at Cromer Junior School teach really engaging, ambitious lessons that stimulate a desire to find out more. Children are taught to relish difficult problems – encouraging a ‘can-do’ attitude to their learning. Whilst there is a strong emphasis on academic success, we know that our children have really varied interests and aspirations so we try to offer a really broad mix of experiences. Our ‘Aspirations Partners’ help us to inspire children for their futures.  Our children try new things often; from 3d printing to street dance - from skateboarding to creating mosaics. We call this ‘Broadening Horizons’.

Reading is a central aspect of the Cromer Junior School experience. Our stimulating library is at the centre of the school, expertly led by our school librarian and her student assistants. Children at our school enjoy reading.

Children are also given the opportunity to shine on stage – we have two major performances each year. Many pupils enjoy playing to a live audience, in a rock band, coached by Rock Steady. Sport is a priority, with children taking part in many local competitions. We support a number of children to access clubs and events, taking advantage of various coaches to provide for all our children.

Children have one experience of junior school and we aim to make it amazing!

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
