Attendance

Please ensure that children arrive promptly each day. The school day begins between 8.45 and 9.00am.

It is a regulation that we have to report the number of absences your child has in a year. It is therefore really important that you inform the school daily, by phone, note, email or ‘Arbor’ giving the reason for absence.  The school is striving to achieve an attendance rate of 97% or above.  It is therefore important that you try to keep your child’s absence to a minimum in order to give them the maximum opportunity in school.  CJS will contact you if there is an unexplained absence.

Children who have been sick (vomiting) will not be expected back at school for a period of 48 hours.

The DFE no longer expects Headteachers to authorize holidays during term time. If you do however, have a planned absence you should complete the form available from reception.

New regulations around Fixed Penalty Notices came into effect in August 2024.
